“After being hypnotized by his sister in law, a man begins seeing haunting visions of a girl’s ghost and a mystery begins to unfold around her.”

Kevin Bacon who also played in ”Flatliners” and “Tremors” (both also good movies by the way) plays the lead. Critics widely compare this movie to “Sixth Sense” (remember “I see dead people” ?) starring Bruce Willis released in the same year, but I think they are different, and each very good in it’s own way.

I think this perhaps best describes the difference between 2 great movies:

” ‘Sixth’ achieves a rare hushed poetry where Stir, for all its strengths, is more earthbound and familiar.”

….but still I prefer Stir of Echoes…..
