Some cool stuff’s been happening. No, I still can’t ride the unicycle, but I’ve started on the bouldering wall – got most of the wood, ordered a good set of grips to start off so I’ll start drilling some holes tomorrow – after seeing the attorney, but that’s a long story - let’s call it atonement for past sins

Roc Rally is on! Leaving on Friday, and so far the weather is looking good.

My effort with setting up the registrations for the Rally paid off, so far 26 teams registered with the minimum hassles.

I’m really looking forward to the crazy & fun atmosphere – be there or be square!!!

Then, SA Schools finals the week thereafter – a lot of people put in a lot of work and now it’s come to the first inter-provincial comp in many years, if not ever. Most of the KZN & W-Cape schools & teachers will be making a roadtrip of it by doing the Roc Rally and then travelling to JHB & PTA for the two final events the week thereafter.

I’ve been looking for a new theme – the old one does not do the SANCL structure any justice – and came across what I consider to be a brilliant theme exposing the tree structure of the different leagues.

With the University Leagues keen to join after a briefing by Neil Margetts (Chairman and founder of the GSCL ), the bouldering guys showing some interest and the SA Schools League finals around the corner, this is a perfect time to unveil the new look.

What still needs to be done is to show the live ranking system. Most, but not all of the school kids have signed up, so it might well be time to show the rankings. The kids missing on the rankings might just motivate the late adopters to actually get their butts in gear and sign up – it’s free after all?!

I’m also considering launching a competition for the desing of a SANCL logo. I’m not much good at drawing and it might be a good way of attracting some attention to the site. Watch this space….

By now the site has some meat to it in terms of posts, and some other leagues (other than the school leagues) are showing interest.

We’re having a national competition from 2-3 October. I’ve been organising accomodation for the PTA leg of the final, and the prize offered by the potential host is spectacular – a weekend stay for 4 people at a 3 star lodge is not too shabby at all.
